サマースクール体験記
Heading into this program, I was unaware of how much fun and adventure would be in store for me. Visiting different places like the Akashi Kaikyō Bridge and E-Defence was so amazing and informative. We were able to see how the concepts we had learned about in a classroom gets to be applied to the real world. Learning about the research and development behind such structures in Japan and then seeing how they are used to withstand disasters such as earthquakes is really an inspiring feat of engineering, one that I am glad to have been able to witness myself. Touring the labs at the university, it was very interesting to see the research and study areas available to the students, to see the similarities and differences of what the equivalent in RMIT is. This gave me a lot of insight for my career and which areas I would want to work in.
このプログラムに参加する前は、これほど楽しくてわくわくする経験が待っているとは思っていませんでした。明石海峡大橋やE-Defenceのようなさまざまな場所を訪れることができ、とても素晴らしく、学びの多い体験でした。教室で学んだ概念が実社会でどのように応用されているのかを実際に見ることができました。日本におけるこうした構造物の研究開発について学び、さらにそれらが地震のような災害に耐えるためにどのように活用されているのかを目の当たりにしたことは、本当に感動的な工学の成果であり、自分自身でそれを見学できたことをとても嬉しく思います。大学の研究室見学では、学生に提供されている研究・学習分野を見ることができ、とても興味深く感じました。また、RMITにある同様の分野と比べて、似ている点や異なる点を知ることもできました。こうした経験は、自分のキャリアや、将来どの分野で働きたいかを考える上で多くの示唆を与えてくれました。
キャリアと日本文化との出会い
Also, apart from the insights we received into where we can take our careers, we had the privilege to experience student life in Japan. We had the chance to participate in different activities such as Shodo (calligraphy) and classroom games with Kobe University students, leading to lots of fun. We made new friends, strengthened our multi-cultural awareness and gained new experiences that wouldn’t have been possible without this program. I highly recommend to future students as given the chance; I wouldn’t hesitate to retake this trip and experience everything again.
また、将来のキャリアについての示唆を得られただけでなく、日本での学生生活を体験できたことも大変貴重でした。書道や神戸大学の学生との教室内ゲームなど、さまざまな活動に参加する機会があり、とても楽しい時間を過ごしました。このプログラムを通して新しい友人ができ、多文化への理解が深まり、このプログラムがなければ得られなかった新しい経験を積むことができました。将来参加する学生には、ぜひこのプログラムを勧めたいと思います。もしもう一度参加できる機会があるなら、私は迷わず再びこの旅に参加し、すべてをもう一度体験したいです。
